She was commissioned in1943 and went on to become the most decorated destroyer in the Canadian Navy. Initially, She was used as a convoy escort in North Russia. Later she took part in the sinking of several enemy vessels including torpedo boat TY9, T27 destroyer Z32, U971 and minesweeper M486. She was present on D-Day. After the war she took part in NATO exercises and in 1952, she began the first of two duties in Korea. Eventually she was purchased by a group of private citizens and in 1970 was accorded a permanent home at Ontario place.
