Hills Of Mabou

J. Franklin Wright is a native of Point Tupper, Nova Scotia, and has been regarded as one of Canada’s foremost marine artists for the last thirty years. We are all very fortunate that Frank has decided to put commissions on hold for now so he can take some much deserved time to paint some of his favorite scenes. In building his legacy, he has created majestic paintings for corporations and individuals, as well as for government agencies for commerative stamps and has created the art for a spendid twenty dollar coin in 2001 and again in 2002. Over the last number of years even as he has researched numerous sources for information for his many commissions, some as far away as Royal Institute in England, and he has always taken great joy from the scenes that surround him. This view, as seen from the Colindale Road on the way to West Mabou, depicts the “Broithers” farm nestled in the hills that are alight wiht the most glorious fall colors. There seems to be some parrell between the ebb tide, the waning of the seasons and the reflections that we see so clearly.
