About April Burns
”I always had a keen interest in art, but it wasn’t until I started my own family, that I felt freer to push my boundaries on pieces for my own children. One of my most memorable critiques was when my son told me; that’s pretty cool mom.”
That support gave her the confidence to experiment much more with her work. April works mainly in Acrylics, and tends to always use a brush, even with lining, which she states, gives her work a “not so perfect” look, but likes the results of the looser style. Her subject matter is usually Nova Scotian landscapes, seascapes, or indigenous flowers.
“I hope others enjoy viewing my work as much as I do creating them. “ When not painting, April enjoys time with family and friends, but is always looking for her next inspiration.
