Down To Earth Art gallery and Fine Framing, located on Main St., in Antigonish N.S., is locally owned and operated by Gerard Mason and Elaine Rhynold and has been in existence since 1996.
Down To Earth has acquired a reputation for being a leader in creative custom picture framing, which is all done here on site in our professional framing studio.
Our Frame Studio
We specialize in a wide variety of unique framing styles and combinations using all acid free archival products, mats, fillets, liners, suede’s, fabrics and all wood frames (absolutely no plastic or foam). Down To Earth has had the opportunity to frame almost anything you can imagine including hockey sticks, pucks, jerseys, flags, all types of needlework and weaving, crewel, and christening gowns. As well, we have done Native arrow and spearheads, traditional masks, lobster claws, carvings, coins, paper money, spoons, knives, plates, ivory carvings, stamps, albums, c.d.’s, and tools. Some favorites to frame are personal items: such as rings and necklaces, war medals and special awards, patches, and commerative invitations, as well as movie and concert momentous…. check out our “Brag Book” section for a variety of samples.
Our Gallery
Down To Earth Art has a gallery stocked with hundreds of framed original oils, watercolors, pastels, etchings, limited edition prints and photography. Each piece is custom framed using quality materials and framing techniques to ensure a unique piece that will make a lasting impression. We carry a wide variety of local artists featuring historical ships, seascapes, florals, landscapes and woodcrafts.
